Hi, I’m Neké Akua

I’m Neké Akua — wife, mom of two, and someone who’s never quite managed to stay in one place. I grew up in Montgomery, Alabama, but “home” has meant a lot of different places since — Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Washington State, Illinois and California, and abroad in the U.K., Japan and Qatar. These days, I call Texas home.

I’ve traveled across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean and North America. Experiencing the world was part of my life long before I ever thought about creating content — and the funny thing is, I don’t have content from half of it. No perfectly edited reels. No airport transitions. No “come spend five days with me” videos. I was just living. Now I’m documenting more of it.

Between work, family, travel and everything else that somehow lands on my calendar, I’ve learned that waiting for life to calm down before enjoying it is a losing game — because apparently, it’s never calming down. So I make room for the rest of it anyway: a trip somewhere new, a beautiful space, a great outfit, a really good meal, taking care of myself, laughing until I can’t breathe, and sometimes doing something simply because I want to.

Around here, you’ll find travel, style, home, wellness, food, family, real life — and probably some foolishness. I stopped trying to squeeze all of that into a perfect little niche, because my life doesn’t fit into one either. Some weeks I’m somewhere new. Some weeks I’m making my home a little more beautiful. Some weeks I’m trying to get back on track with wellness. Some weeks I’m juggling work, family, and a calendar that clearly has no respect for me. And some weeks? I’m outside.

What you won’t find here is a performance of a perfect life — I don’t have one. I have a full one: still evolving, still surprising me, still giving me plenty of reasons to get dressed and go somewhere. I’ve already lived a lot of life, and I’m still excited about how much more there is to experience — more places to see, more things to try, more memories to make.

I’m not here to sell you a whole life or convince you mine is perfect. I’m just sharing pieces of mine — the places, experiences, finds, spaces, laughs, and everyday moments that are actually worth sharing.
